This website and its ressources are open to everyone interested in or working with this dog breed, whether breeder, owner, hunter, aficionado or cynologist.

Windhound friends who wish to actively contribute, can apply for registration. The interactive applications, like news, weblinks and article submission are then available.

This site works in close cooperation with the Hortaya Borzaya Association of Russia and maintains the official central breed database.

Additional information and pictures are absolutely and always welcome. Please contact the webmaster to point out factual mistakes in content or attribution of photos. Every breeder and owner of Hortaya or Hortaya partbreds wishing to sell puppies or dogs or advertising a stud male can send us the relevant data for publishing. We will however not advertise litters and dogs bred by mass producers.

The main language of this site is English. A German translation is in work. We still seek sightdog friends willing to translate the site content into French and Russian for us.

Browser compatibility, browser settings, cookies, firewall

This website is optimized for a resolution of 1024 x 768 or higher. Though it will work with 800 x 600 we recommend the higher solution for comfort.

It is also using interactive content management software which will function without problems only with recent browser versions. As we want to provide the maximum of comfort to the 99% visitors who use them, we regret to have to tell people still using past versions to update, if they want to also use and look at the pages with managed content (news, forum, etc.). This site works best with either Firefox 1.0 or IE 6, Mac users are advised to use Firefox or Mozilla only, IE has grave problems displaying dynamic pages on Macs.

If you have set your browser and/or firewall to high security settings - disabling cookies and java - some of the interactive features like the forum, the pedigree database, the photo database or subscription to the maillist may not work properly. If you want to use these features we recommend adding the whole site to your list of trusted sites in both of these applications.

Advertising on the International Hortaya Borzaya Network

Breeders and stud dog owners of Hortaya Borzaya can submit their logos, which will be displayed at no cost, however a backlink to this site is obligatory. Simply email the logo to the site administrator.

For other breeds, manufacturers and shops a small fee applies. Advertisements are clickable. Please contact the site administrator for more information and a list of fees.

Translations and the New Site

The translations will be written and added to on the fly. Right now only the English version is completely online. Anyone who wants to translate from English to either Russian, Finnish or French please contact the site administrator. Your help will be most welcome!

Some functions are also still unavailable, e.g. the pedigree database is currently just being set up, the forum isn't yet online and some smaller issues will also be added and worked on.

Three Hortaya males of excellent quality from Kennel Dachshaus are looking for owners or co-owners. Please apply only if you are willing to keep the males intact and willing to allow them to breed!

Birindshy

The puppies were raised and are stationed in Germany, are chipped, dewormed regularly, completely vaccinated, have an EU-passport, all have two descended testicles and may, depending on country, be transported immediately or after a rabies titre test.
